Customer Review: A Must-Have for My Kitchen and Travel

I have both sizes of Swissgold Tea Filters. Basically the small one fits in everything except my large Brown Betty Teapot.
I bought these filters, because, I can taste when a metal tea ball has been in the tea, and with the gold plating on this one, there is no "off" taste to the tea. Even in the teapots with the built-in strainer, they do a poor job of halting the leaves before landing in my cup, so this gadget has been worth every penny.
The filter allows for full unfurling of all kinds of tea leaves, and doesn't allow any of the very tiniest of tea leaves sneak through the holes. The TF300 fits into most mugs and most teapots. Yeah, it's not beautiful, like my sterling antique tea strainers, but what it lacks in beauty, it more than makes up for in superior function.
I carry it with me on overnights when I am caring for clients. It sounds silly, but it makes making a cup of loose leaf tea that much easier, and that much more enjoyable. By removing the strainer at the precise time, it stops the tea leaves from over-infusing and ruining the pot or cup of tea, and the top doubles as a drip-catcher upon removal.
I do like the way the TF500 locks more snugly in the lid than the TF300, when used as a drip-catcher, but that is a small gripe for this kitchen tool.
I saw a new gadget on the market the folds down to the size of a collapsible cup, and I may try that one, as one to keep in my purse, but for now, the Swissgold TF300 and TF500 are "all that!"
